First layer of plaster of Paris and joint compound mixed together, with mold free fiberglass tape for added strength. Stryofoam balls to indicate where more mass needs to be added.

After many more layers of plaster and joint compound, sanding and caressing, here is the final product, glistening in 24K double gold leaf.
